Registered Psychologists charge $220 per session. They are typically covered by most work insurance plans. These professionals are regulated in Alberta through College of Alberta Psychologists and have completed postgraduate training, specializing in a broad range of psychological services, including assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for mental health issues. In Alberta, Psychologists need a minimum of Masters in Psychology to register.

Registered Provisional Psychologists charge $200 per session and are covered by most work insurance plans. They have also completed postgraduate training and are regulated in Alberta. They practice under the supervision of a clinical supervisor for 1,600 hours as part of their registration process and have to pass a board exam called the EPPP. They specialize in providing psychological services while working towards full licensure.

Social Workers charge $220 per session and are usually covered by most work insurance plans. They are regulated in Alberta with ACSW and have completed postgraduate training, often holding at least a Master of Social Work. Master of Counselling Interns charge between $0 and $70 per session. They are practicum students who are completing their Master’s-level training in psychology and counselling. Interns specialize in providing therapeutic support under the guidance of a clinical supervisor, offering affordable counselling options while gaining practical experience.

Counsellors charge $150 per session and may be covered by selected insurance companies, depending on the provider. They specialize in offering general counselling services for various mental health concerns but do not have a regulated designation in Alberta, making it important to check insurance coverage beforehand.
