Jessica Wong

Hello! My name is Jessica and I am currently a Masters level practicum student in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
I am passionate about working with clients to increase their self-awareness and discover strengths to build resiliency and adaptability to the environments they face.

I believe everyone’s journey and challenges are unique, shaped by our personal experiences and the identities we hold dear to us. My ongoing life experience helps me understand how the everyday stressors we face can be intertwined and complicate our self and relationships with others. My prior work experience taught me the importance of well-being and a profound commitment to personal development while appreciating the qualities we possess. I hope to utilize my skills and insights in my counselling practice to support clients in confidently navigating their journey.

Therefore, I am dedicated to using an integrated approach such as person-centered care, leveraging problem-solving techniques and creative arts expression to address and navigate life’s challenges. My culturally sensitive approach respects diverse backgrounds, and understanding of generational differences enhances my ability to connect with clients from various walks of life. By combining these elements, I aim to foster a supportive environment through empathy and attentiveness where growth and healing can flourish and each individual feels genuinely heard and understood.
